The Watergate break-in was front page news of the Washington Post on June 18, 1972 — the day after the burglary. Richard Nixon would not resign until August 8, 1974. It would take two years for the pressure to build on the President until he finally accepted that there was no way to avoid impeachment and removal, so he left. So let’s talk about what that pressure looked like, and if we can replicate it now.
